Add a New Category and/or Edit an Existing One


If you wish to create a new category or/and edit an existing one please open the following file:

category_edit.php

Request parameters:

id - category ID transmitted only when editing an existent one. To create a new one -0- should be transmitted (optional)
parID - parent category ID is an integer number. -0- (if indicated in addition of a new category) - top level category
name - name (essential for adding a new category) up to 100 symbols
title - complete category title
active - activity flag. -0- or -1-. for new category -1- is default
priority - category priority, runs from 0 to 255
comment - brief category description up to 255 symbols
description - description up to 65K
meta_title - title to be inserted into meta-tags up to 255 symbols
meta_keywords - keywords to be inserted into the meta-tags up to 65K symbols
meta_description - description to be inserted into the meta-tags up to 65K symbols
image - image file, transmitted by utilizing POST method analog of browser method (e.g. <input type=file name=image>), or string that contains image URL address.


Response parameters:

If no error ocurrs the response field gives an ID of a new/existent category in XML format as following:

<id> - category ID as an integer number
